Hello,
I’m Marta!
I am an enthusiastic and creative Artist from Madrid, immigrated to Detroit, USA 10 years ago. I have a Bachelor in Fine Arts from Facultad de Bellas Artes, specialized in Graphic Design and Fine Art, from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain. I worked in Spain for 15 years as an Artist specialized in the Fine art of Portraits, and have served as the Art Director at various Prestigious Publishing Companies. I have presented solo art shows in my 2nd year of Fine ART College. I am interested in portraying human anatomy characteristics that define the soul. My process of work is: Interviewing, conversating with the subject, and capturing human expressions with my camera, constructing their facial anatomy through their emotions.
“Marta Carvajal does not only capture the essence and spirit of the individuals’ soul; she paints with a beautiful eye for anthropological portraits. Marta’s works depict her relentless passion for creating art every day. Marta is a Phenomenon. Her work has a significant presence in the art community that others desire her to be personally commissioned for various personal projects. Marta’s compelling work includes a wide range of subject matters; from tribal women and children, wildlife, and iconic figures, Motown legendary artists, human life subjects among others. In addition, Marta continues to create unique custom 3d collage effect portraits for individuals and families, a craft she developed and has mastered portraits for over 30 years. Marta’s visual art painting canvas visual storyteller style is cutting edge and is the new wave for this generation that incorporates traditional and digital. She explores history to create her rare artistic documentary Artwork, which also teaches the present and future generation about the Human rights of great leaders and notable persons and their legacy.”
“I share my artistic passion, inspiration, and vision that pushes the boundaries of art that explores the metaphysics of humanity. What techniques do you use? What artists or life experiences have influenced your work? You may describe your work overall, or a specific series of work. I am fascinated with African American History. My passion for those who fought to create a better world in their lifetime motivates my art. I created a series of visual documentary artwork, that depicts and narrates the life journey of the subject; with the main portrait in the center painted with fine art materials using acrylic, oil, and pencil. Their background has a collage of documents and pictures that embodies their life that presents a historic narrative. All the piece is covered by thick resin that seals and blends the Artwork. The style recently has attracted prominent persons and organizations. I was influenced by my grandmother’s artwork and collages as a young person with pictures from our large family.”
